We are aware of an increasing number of fraudulent websites that mimic Patagonia.com.au.
These websites are run by scammers seeking funds or information. If you process a purchase, they’re likely to charge your credit card, Paypal or other payment method and either, send you nothing, a counterfeit Patagonia product, or an unrelated inferior product. They will not respond to any emails or offer refunds, leaving you to contact your payment provider in an attempt to retrieve the lost funds, which is not always successful.
Here are some ways to tell if a website is selling genuine Patagonia product:
It is an authorised seller in Australia on our Store Locator.
The URL is not suspect; it looks like a genuine web address.
The price discount is not atypical, i.e. more than 60% off.
The contact email is not a personal email provider (e.g. hotmail.com, gmail.com, yahoo.com) but rather a corporate, branded address.
Policies such as shipping, refund, etc. will be written clearly and make sense.
If you have any doubts or concerns on a website, feel free to email us at contact@patagonia.com.au prior to purchasing.
